The current ConocoPhillips Aviation Terminal Hangar was built in 1987. It accommodates the corporate shuttle service and administrative functions. The facility is a two-story building made with quality materials, demonstrating excellence in all aspects.

The hangar has 4 power doors, 30 feet high, facing the main runway. There are 11 overhead gas heaters and a 5-ton rail type crane. In addition to a chief mechanic’s office and workshop, the hangar includes a kitchen, lounge area, restroom, and storage area.

The office and terminal facilities consist of pilot ready rooms, an executive office suite, a conference room, and storage areas. The passenger drop-off and pick-up area is covered. Parking is conveniently located near the passenger lounge.

A Brief History of the Facility

The original Conoco Aviation Facility was built in the 1930s. The facility has been an integral part of the corporate air fleet and used for promotion of the company’s aviation products, especially aviation fuel. Many well-known aviators of the era, such as Laura Ingalls (who set many long distance records) stopped at the Conoco Facility. It was considered the “front door” to the Ponca City complex.
